    County had ordered canine to be quarantined or killed; testing can only be done after death

    A dog ordered by the Greene County Commission to either be killed or quarantined because of a potential rabies risk has been found not to have the disease.

    That testing, however, wasn’t possible while the animal was alive. So it has been euthanized.

    Last week, the commission issued an order demanding the quarantine or euthanasia of a dog thought to have been exposed to rabies by a rabid skunk.
